Fasnacht

Fasnacht is celebrated every four years and is done to show or represent the common struggle between good and evil. During the festivals people that live in Tyrol will wear ancient masks and dance the "Gang'l" together. Citizens will hold a parade through the streets dressed in different types of costumes. When they dress up for this festival they cover every inch of their body with clothing, wigs, masks and gloves. There are two different types of mask that are worn to thhe Fasnacht- one is the Scheller and the other is the Roller. The Scheller has a darker skin tone, bear and bushy eye brows this represents masculinity. While the Roller is a softer version with feminine eyes, rosy check and a smile- this represents the female.
